I worked for my uncle’s sterling silver jewellery business in the summer holidays.
What was your worst experience as a trainee?
Working seven weekends in a row.
Where’s the best place to go if you want to find out what’s really going on in the office?
The trainees are usually helpful in this regard.
What do you do at weekends?
Relax with my wife; play British League table tennis; watch my beloved Tottenham Hotspur FC.
What’s your favourite restaurant?
If you weren’t a lawyer what would you have been?
Spurs’ centre forward or a member of Take That.
What’s your favourite film?
The Shawshank Redemption.
What was the first record you ever bought?
I’m not that old! It would have been a Genesis CD.

My father, the greatest man who has ever lived and to whom I dedicate any of my successes.
What book are you reading?
The Way I see It by Lord Sugar.
What’s your favourite children’s book?
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
What’s the most exciting deal/case you’ve worked on and why?
There are almost too many to pick one out, but I immensely enjoy IPOs – taking a company to market is considered the pinnacle of its growth and development.
What’s the worst partner conference location you’ve attended and why?
I have not yet attended a partner conference outside London.
What’s the longest you’ve worked without sleep?
If a movie was being made about your life, which actor would play you and why?
Colin Firth, an incredible actor yet straightforward, modest and level-headed.
Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with and why?
Arsene Wenger. No prizes for guessing why.
Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (in any order)
I’m a former national table tennis team champion; I met my wife while participating in an international sporting event abroad; I used to support Arsenal.
