Austrian firm Wolf Theiss has strengthened its Vienna competition team with the hire of a counsel from O’Melveny & Myers’ Brussels office.
Jochen Anweiler will join Wolf Theiss’s competition and antitrust team in Vienna after six years with O’Melveny & Myers in Brussels. Before that Anweiler was with CMS Hasche Sigle’s Brussels office.
Anweiler, an expert on cartel law and merger control, advises companies in the software, aviation, financial services, private equity, automotive supply and petrochemicals sectors.
Anweiler said: “It was primarily the dynamics and regional orientation of Wolf Theiss that attracted me to the firm.
“When it comes to reviewing cartels and multi-jurisdictional merger notifications, clients are particularly appreciative of top-notch legal services and the advantages of cross-border advice provided by a firm with a one-stop-shop philosophy in a region covering 12 jurisdictions where the firm has offices.”
