Withy King signs deal with insurer FirstAssist

The firm has signed up with FirstAssist Legal ­Protection, a specialist insurer that has a similar deal with Pinsent Masons.

A delegated authority deal means Withy King will be able to assess the merits of cases before ­putting in place funding packages for clients with ­clinical ­negligence claims.

Withy King clinical negligence head Simon Elliman said legal costs were a ­growing concern for litigants wanting to access the courts, making alternative funding an attractive proposition.

“We’ve been looking for a provider that has a comprehensive product offering as well as experience of ­handling clinical negligence cases,” Elliman said. “Our partnership with FirstAssist means we can help clients fund ­litigation costs as well improve the process.”
