Withers has appointed Joe Field to the newly created role of Asia senior partner and has sent two associates from London to be based in Hong Kong.
Field will relocate from New York, where he is a senior international partner, to Hong Kong.
The Asia practice previously fell under the remit of managing director of Hong Kong Samantha Bradley.
Field is a US-qualified lawyer who advises international families on structuring their affairs and wealth planning as well as financial institutions.
Bradley said: “Joe Field is an extremely well-respected professional who has more than 20 years experience advising families in Asia and we’re thrilled to have him join the Hong Kong team.
“The addition of Cindy and Philip will ensure we’re able to continue to keep up with the increasing amount of work in this region and continue to offer our clients the very best service,” she added.
The associates who are relocating are Cindy Brittain, whose practice focuses on cross-border estate and tax planning, and Philip Munro, who is in the investment and business tax team.
