Withers has hired former Travers Smith litigation partner John Kingston to build up its London-based litigation group. Kingston led Travers’ litigation group from 1980 until 2007.
Withers managing director Margaret Robertson said: ”Litigation is on the rise across the world in this difficult economic climate and we’re experiencing a growing demand for advice on contentious matters.”
Kingston has been involved in a number of high-profile litigations in recent years, including disciplinary and arbitration proceedings for West Ham United FC in relation to Carlos Tevez.
Kingston also advised ITV on the Boxclever litigation.
