Shearman & Sterling has hired a member of the executive committee from leading US litigation firm Winston & Strawn as well as a litigation partner from Bingham McCutchen.
The move by Steven Molo, a Winston litigator specialising in business litigation and white collar crime, is surprising considering Winston’s top-five position among US litigation practices. Shearman is best known for arbitration, particularly outside the US.
Molo plans to maintain his existing Midwest clients in Chicago while expanding his client base in New York, his new home at Shearman.
The second hire, Stephen Hibbard, who joins from Bingham, is an experienced arbitrator and securities lawyer. He joins Shearman’s San Francisco office.
