Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has posted its highest earnings since 2007, with gross revenue rising from $531m (£337.1m) to $549m after two years of falling revenues.
The firm’s 11.4 per cent year-on-year increase in gross revenue was matched by a 17.7 per cent increase in average profit per equity partner (PEP) to $1.77m, with revenue per lawyer rising 10.7 per cent to $930,000.
Last year saw the technology firm advise on $32bn worth of M&A transactions, representing information technology company Savvis Inc in its $3.1bn sale to CenturyLink and Paris-based oil and gas company Total in its $1.4bn stake in San Jose-based energy company SunPower Corporation.
2011 also saw the West Coast firm open its first office in Europe (20 September 2011), joining a raft of US firms seeking to boost their competition profile in Brussels (12 September 2011).
