US firm WilmerHale today announced that Susan Murley and Robert Novick will take over as co-managing partners at the start of 2012.
Earlier this month The Lawyer reported the plans of current co-managing partners, Bill Perlstein and Bill Lee, to stand down after a year of transition at the Washington DC-headquartered firm (15 November http://www.thelawyer.com/wilmer-gears-up-for-election-a-year-early-to-find-out-who-fits-the-bills/1006103.article).
The pair have been co-managing partners of Wilmer since 2004, when Wilmer Cutler Pickering and Hale and Dorr merged.
“Susan and Bob have been leaders within the firm for some time and this election is a natural progression,” said Lee. “They come to these new leadership positions with a very broad and real understanding of WilmerHale’s practices, clients, culture and law firm economics. I’m confident the firm will excel under their leadership.”
Murley has been chair of the Wilmer’s transactional department since 20008. Novick has served on the firm’s management committee since 2006 and became chair of the regulatory and government affairs department in 2008.
