Wilmer Hale has lost its entire Munich office after its two partners and six associates left the US firm to set up a spin-off boutique.
Wilmer Hale Munich partners Rainer Kreifels, who joined the firm in 2001 as co-founder of the Munich office, and Hubert Besner have left the firm to set up their own firm by the name of MLawGroup. They have taken six associates with them.
The move leaves Wilmer Hale without any remaining capability in Munich. However, the firm does boast 12 partners and 28 associates in its Berlin office.
Wilmer Hale managing partner Bill Lee said: “We will continue to have a friendly relationship with Hubert Besner and Rainer Kreifels.”
