Wilberforce Chambers has promoted John Martin QC to head of chambers following the retirement of Jules Sher QC.
Sher was elected as head in 2006, taking over from Edward Nugee QC, who had led the set for more than 30 years, with Martin voted in as his deputy.
Martin will now move into the top position, with Michael Furness QC voted in as deputy. Sher has spent more than 40 years at the bar and in the early days of his career acted for the former Beatles manager Allen Klein when he sued John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison.
