Wiggin & Co is set to scoop new instructions from TV stations Channel 4 and Five after recruiting senior associate Amali de Silva from Olswang.
De Silva worked closely with media litigation partner Susan Aslan at Olswang, prior to which they were both at DJ Freeman, where Channel 4's controller of legal and compliance Jan Tomalin was also a member of the team.
"Amali is a tough litigator - an iron hand in a velvet glove - who you want on your side. She really understands the particular demands presented by Channel 4's unique remit. I look forward to working with her at Wiggin & Co," said Tomalin.
Aslan said she wished De Silva well and that she still had very good relationships with both channels.
De Silva joins Wiggins' litigation team, which is headed by Caroline Kean. De Silva has experience of broadcasting and print disputes and with pre-publication issues.
Five's head of legal and regulatory compliance Paul Chinnery said: "I've always enjoyed working with Amali and look forward to her and the Wiggin & Co media litigation team continuing to bat for us in the future."
