Media boutique Wiggin has struck a rare deal that will see Football Association (FA) executive director and former TV presenter David Davies join the firm as a consultant.
Davies will join Wiggin at the end of this summer's World Cup, although he will continue to meet a range of other media and commercial commitments. The firm hopes Davies's insight into the sport and media industries will help it to develop its growing sports practice.
Davies is one of the best-known faces in sport and boasts years of experience both in sports administration and the media. He began his career at the BBC in 1971 and worked on Match of the Day and Grandstand.
He joined the FA in 1994 as director of public affairs, becoming acting chief executive in December 1998. In January 2000 he took his role as executive director with responsibility for communications and international relations.
