Wiggin & Co has poached a partner from Schilling & Lom in an attempt to bolster its media department.
Simon Baggs joined the Cheltenham-based firm last week, bringing with him a portfolio of "heavy-hitting corporates" in music and media.
Initially, Baggs will work as an associate alongside media partner Caroline Kean, but he is expected to join the firm's tightknit equity structure in the near future.
"I'm looking forward to working with one of the most progressive and proactive media law firms in the country. Wiggin & Co is competing with the leading firms and the opportunity to work with Caroline could not be passed up," says Baggs.
Baggs won recognition when he acted on Island Records v Tring International plc and A&M Records v Video Collection International plc.
He is the latest of several lawyers to join Wiggin & Co's media team recently. Jonathan Riley came from film distributor Buena Vista and Jane Fairlie moved from Harvey Goldsmith Entertainments late last year.
