Wicket day out

There’s nothing Tulkinghorn likes more than a spot of cricket on a sunny bank holiday weekend. So imagine his glee when he heard the news that Taylor Wessing is sponsoring the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) Masters season for the next two years.

The series kicked off last Sunday with a match against the New Zealand team – which, not surprisingly, was well supported by The Lawyer’s antipodean contingent. Taylor Wessing put on a thoroughly good show all round, providing a fantastic lunch, entertainment from the Bondi Beach Band, and even a ride with England’s Gladstone Small back to the train station. (Unfortunately, England couldn’t quite live up to Taylor Wessing’s standard, falling short of the Kiwi’s 275 runs).

Mind you, it wasn’t just the clients that Taylor Wessing managed to impress. Franklyn Rose, the West Indies bowler who was part of the Masters team, took quite a shine to a certain Taylor Wessing lady.
But sadly for Franklyn, she remained unmoved by his fast-paced attack.
