White & Case capital markets partner Peter Epp, who last May pulled out of launching Bracewell & Giuliani’s London office in favour of partnership at White & Case, is leaving the firm for Herbert Smith.
Epp, who will join Herbert Smith as a partner in April, said he viewed the move to the City firm as a great opportunity.
With his practice being focused on transactions in countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Thailand and Turkey, Epp hopes to continue his emerging markets work at his new firm.
“They don’t have quite the presence in emerging markets, but that’s what I do,” he said. “This is a really good chance for me to join and augment the practice.”
Epp had been earmarked as the head of a team expected to launch Bracewell’s London office, but he declined the opportunity after being made up to partner at White & Case.
