White & Case has established a tax capability in its Bratislava, Slovakia office with the hire of two Ernst & Young tax advisers
The arrival of Miriam Galandová and Miroslav Tain turns the Bratislavian tax practice, which is now five-strong, into a full-service multidisciplinary capability.
The move follows White & Case's recruitment of 10 tax advisers for its Prague office last year.
The firm has been looking for tax advisers for its 12-strong legal-based Bratislava office since tax partner Ales Cechel joined its Prague office from Andersen in July 2002.
Cechel runs the Slovakian tax group out of the firm's Prague office, where White & Case now has a 12-strong multidisciplinary tax practice in its 60-lawyer practice.
White & Case's Czech and Slovak tax practice is largely focused on the financial services, telecommunications and utilities sectors.
