White & Case has poached a pair of Simmons & Simmons partners to boost its Düsseldorf office.
The head of Simmons' German tax practice Hans-Jörg Wittmann and Christoph Kuzaj joined White & case on 1 April.
Wittmann is a tax lawyer who specialises in advising on M&A, private equity and restructurings. Witmman began his career at KPMG in 1994 before moving to the Düsseldorf office of Haarmann Hemmelrath in 1998.
Kuzaj is an M&A and private equity expert. Recent deals include advising STAR Capital Partners in its takeover of B.U.S Steel Services.
The Simmons raid is White & Case's second on the UK firm. It follows the recruitment of finance partner Sabine Schomaker, who joined White & Case's Frankfurt office from Simmons in February.
