The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
White & Case’s London office has unveiled the results of its management overhaul, creating the post of chief operating partner for the first time.
As exclusively revealed by The Lawyer (20 September) Neil Upton, who joined the US firm’s London office two years ago, will take on the newly created role.
His remit will cover the day-to-day running of the office as well as business development. Upton will be assisted by a chief operating officer who is yet to be appointed but is expected to be a non-lawyer.
The firm has also revealed its new "strategy committee", replacing the executive committee which was implemented just over a year ago.
Like its previous incarnation this new committee will be made up of the heads of the five "umbrella" practice sections: bank finance, capital markets, corporate, dispute resolution and energy, infrastructure, project and asset finance.
But under the new structure an additional partner from each group will sit on the committee as well as a partner of less than five years seniority. The chief operating partner and chief operating office will both sit on the committee which will be chaired by a member, elected on a yearly basis.
