White & Case has boosted its Asia foreign investment practice, poaching two new partners for its Beijing and Hong Kong offices.
Frederick Chang joined the firm’s Beijing office from King & Wood - China’s largest law firm. Wui Seung Chong joined White & Case’s Hong Kong office from Simmons & Simmons.
The new partners have been appointed to advise Chinese clients on foreign investments.
White & Case managing partner Duane Wall said the arrival of Chang and Seung reflected a growing demand for international legal services from Chinese clients.
“Building our capabilities in China is one of the core development objectives of the firm,” he said.
M&A star Seung has practiced as a consultant at Simmons’ Hong Kong office since October 2003. Prior to that, he practiced at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
