White & Case has moved to strengthen its Paris white collar crime team with the hire of Salans partner Ludovic Malgrain.
Malgrain joins the US firm some 16 months after it brought on board partner Michel Beaussier and a team of six lawyers from white collar boutique Beaussier & Associés. His appointment brings the number of partners in White & Case’s French contentious team to four, and the number in the Paris office to 31.
Malgrain joined Salans from Morgan Lewis in January last year. He has advised on issues such as the investigation into the Concorde crash in 2000.
Beaussier said there was a significant overlap in Malgrain’s experience and client base to his own, which would improve the efficiency of the firm’s services to clients in this area.
Salans’ Paris office has recently been on a growth spurt, following up the January 2011 hire of Malgrain with a number of other appointments including the December 2011 acquisition of restructuring boutique Sonier & Associés (15 December 2011).
