Which? taps Avon for new legal head

Ben Moshinsky

Consumer body Which? has appointed a new head of legal after its former chief lawyer quit following a disagreement over strategy.

Which? has brought in Steve Coyle, who joins from Avon Cosmetics, to replace former head Gordon Wilson.

Coyle had been at Avon for nine years, most recently as head of sales development for Western Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, Coyle launched Avon's base in Vietnam, where he was head of sales and operation.

Coyle said: "Which? is a well known brand and has been providing independent, expert advice to consumers for more than 50 years, so it's a great organisation to work for."

The Which? Legal Service provides legal advice to consumers and is operated by lawyers. It is understood that Wilson left the company after disagreeing over proposed changes to the service.
