What of our reputations?

Recent events within the solicitors' profession, such as the disputes over Ms Kamlesh Bahl and the president's bid to change the Law Society's constitution without first having a full-scale review, have concerned us greatly.

To the general public these developments portray solicitors as misleading, factious, irresponsible and unfit to regulate their own affairs.

Difficult and intractable as the problems may appear, I hope that every effort will be made to achieve peaceful, workable settlement.
