WFW launches Spanish tax practice with PwC hire
Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has launched a tax practice in Spain after hiring a lawyer from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Luis Soto joins WFW’s Madrid office, which opened in 2009, from Landwell PriceWaterhouseCoopers Tax & Legal Services after 15 years at the firm. He joins as a partner in the international tax group.
Soto is a domestic and international tax lawyer, specialising in project finance, restructuring, renewable energy, real estate and shipping.
WFW now has five partners and 11 lawyers in its Madrid office.
The firm’s Madrid office head Joaquín Sales said in a statement: “With Luis Soto joining the Watson Farley & Williams Madrid team, together with the recent arrivals of María Segimón in the corporate team and public and regulatory law specialist Ignacio Borrego, we have expanded our capability to advise clients on financial, corporate, regulatory and fiscal matters within our sectors of focus, which is energy, infrastructure, maritime and asset finance.”
