Watson Farley & Williams has bolstered its French practice with the appointment of two partners from the new Paris office of Weil Gotshal & Manges. Gilles Cervoni and Lucien Rapp will join Watson Farley's Paris office on 1 June. The departures come only five months after Weil Gotshal merged with Serra Leavy & Cazals, where Cervoni and Rapp were both partners. Their hire will bring the number of partners in Watson Farleys Paris office to four. Cervoni was Weil Gotshals tax partner in Paris. Rapp specialises in regulatory work and has a particular focus on the telecoms and energy sectors. At Watson Farley the new appointments follow the hire of former Allen & Overy senior tax associate Patricia Ianfoli as a partner in the firms New York office. Chris Preston, head of Watson Farleys international tax group said: "The recruitment of Gilles and Patricia is a deliberate move to develop our international tax based structured finance practice."
