Weil and SJ Berwin advise on Duke Street's disposal of Xafinity

Weil Gotshal & Manges has bagged a role advising Advent International on the £190m acquisition of pension and employment benefit group Xafinity from Duke Street Capital.

The deal is the third private equity transaction the US firm has been involved in since the turn of the year.

Private equity partner Marco Compagnoni led the Weil team, working alongside finance partner Michael Nicklin and private equity partner Jonathan Wood.

On the sale side SJ Berwin advised Duke Street, with private equity partner Tim Wright taking the lead role.

The US firm has already advised Home Delivery Network on its acquisition of DHL Domestic and new client Teachers’ Private Capital on its purchase of Acorn Care.

Compagnoni said: “Our private equity team has had a very busy end to  2009 and start to 2010, with a range of new transactions involving new  bank debt now available in the market.”
