The firm brought in £26.9m to the half-year point, compared with £25.2m for the six months to the end of October 2009.

Managing partner Patrick Gaul, who was re-elected for a third term earlier this year (13 May 2010), said: “This is a pleasing and positive result. Everybody’s worked really hard to produce this outcome and in some areas markets are still difficult and there’s not a lot of work around.

“Our result is a reflection of what we’re doing to achieve good results for our clients and if we keep them satisfied then we’ll get to where we want to be at the end of the financial year.”

Weightmans posted fee income of £56.2m for the 2009-10 financial year.
