Weightmans commences with delayed promotions

The firm has provided details of the process for being made up to the ­partnership on its intranet service and will announce its decisions in November.

Any senior associate or fixed-share partner will be able to apply to be made up to the respective fixed-share or equity positions. The firm typically has 10 applicants to each of these groups, half of whom are interviewed.

Weightmans had an average of 310 lawyers last year and 101 partners, of whom just 29 were in the equity.
