Wedlake Bell opts for non-legal CEO

London firm Wedlake Bell has revamped its senior management team by appointing a non-legal CEO. Richard Thorby was previously managing partner at actuarial consultancy Lane Clark & Peacock and spent much of his career at luxury goods group Richemont.

He will be given responsibility for the day-to-day running of the firm and will work closely with managing partner Philip Matthews. Matthews said: “Richard’s arrival will be a significant step for the firm and demonstrates our determination to modernise and enhance our management structure.”
