Bernard Weatherill QC has left 3 New Square after 25 years to "develop links already established with solicitors in the Midlands and the North East".
He is moving to Enterprise Chambers to take advantage of its regional offices in Leeds and Newcastle, as well as London. Weatherill specialises in chancery and company law, areas of considerable expertise at Enterprise Chambers.
Weatherill is passionate about broadening his geographical scope. He says: "Barristers need to be seen as willing to work outside London and the South East."
Enterprise Chambers plans to increase its regional presence. Head of chambers Anthony Mann QC says that Weatherill joining is part of a "general policy of measured expansion", which includes the creation of a new tenancy in the Leeds office.
3 New Square executive head Hedley Marten says: "His departure is on an amicable basis and we wish him all the very best in pursuing his career in London and the regions."
