We predict you’ll like this. Or at least you’re going to find it stimulating.
Today’s issue of The Lawyer, our first back after the fabulous summer, is largely dedicated to a series of bold predictions about the future look, shape and feel of the legal market. And no, we haven’t just plucked them out of thin air.
Over the past few weeks we’ve quizzed dozens of top-level partners, barristers and consultants of various hues on what they see coming down the track over the next five and 10 years.
And here are the results. Seven more transatlantic mergers, no more magic circle, the disappearance of 25 of the current top 100 by 2018; the collapse of one existing Swiss Verein structure merger; at least five firms to have gone spectacularly bust; a fully opened China legal market; and at least one brought down by a cyber security leak. And that’s just for starters.
If you really want to know what’s going on – and what will be going on – it’s all in today’s issue of The Lawyer.
And there’s more. Don’t miss watching Allen & Overy’s senior partner David Morley video interview in which he makes his predictions for the next decade.
Tomorrow: Tony Angel.
