However, average profit per equity partner only rose 7 per cent this year to £424,000 from £396,000.
Managing ;partner Michael Greville singled out shipping and renewables as areas of high performance.
He said: "We are increasing our geographical spread and are well positioned in some exciting sectors."
As revealed in The Lawyer (5 May), the firm has opened a Milan office to target infrastructure and private equity funds.
