Watson Burton is forging ahead with plans to launch the firm’s first office outside its home city of Newcastle after signing up a second partner for its Leeds arm.
The firm, which is ex-pected to open an office in Leeds by the end of the year, has appointed insolvency lawyer Graham Ridler as a partner.
In a related move, it is understood that Watson Burton is expected to enter into a lease for approximately 10,000sq ft in a landmark building in Leeds.
Ridler, who is currently a consultant with Hong Kong firm Deacons, is expected to join Watson Burton to head up corporate recovery in Leeds. He will also become joint head of corporate recovery alongside Julian Gill. Prior to joining Deacons, Ridler was a partner at Eversheds.
The Leeds office will be led by Watson Burton’s head of banking Andrew Gosnay, who joined the firm earlier this year from Pinsents’ Manchester office.
