The infrastructure and project finance teams at Ashurst, Walker Morris and Eversheds won the key roles advising on waste company RE3's £600m contract with Central Berkshire. The 25-year PFI deal will see RE3 provide waste management to Reading Borough Council, Bracknell Forest Borough Council and Wokingham District Council. Ashurst advised merchant bank NIBC, which funded RE3, Walker Morris acted for RE3 and Eversheds advised the councils. NIBC is a longstanding client of Ashurst infrastructure partner Logan Meir. The deal is Ashurst's second waste-management PFI transaction this month, after the firm advised Royal Bank of Scotland and the European Investment Bank on the waste PPP project in Cornwall.
