Ward Hadaway breaks £400k PEP barrier

Newcastle-based Ward Hadaway has announced a 10 per cent improvement in average profit per equity partner (PEP) and a 16 per cent increase in turnover for the last financial year.

The firm has reported a PEP of £405,000, and turnover of £25m for the year marking another strong year for the firm, which has reported its tenth consecutive year of double digit growth.

Managing partner, Jamie Martin said that the year saw especially strong performance from the property and litigation departments.

“Our work book has never been stronger as we move into 2007/08 and we are well placed for the delivery of our expansion plans over the next year or two,” he said.

Last month, the firm added to its 70-strong NHS client portfolio by securing a major contract to provide legal services to the County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust last month.

The firm has expanded its staff numbers to almost 400 and also made a number of lateral hires during the year including Watson Burton’s Andrew Hoyle and Melanie Pears and her team from Eversheds.
