Cayman Islands law firm Walkers has bulked up its Hong Kong presence with the hire of the general counsel of Fortis Prime Fund Solutions Asia, signalling the beginning of a recruitment drive for the firm in Asia.
Carol Hall will join the firm's Hong Kong office as a partner on 3 October. Her appointment bolsters the firm's local team to nine lawyers and signals the start of a strategy to recruit at least six more lawyers within the next 12 months.
Hall's hire coincides with the promotion of corporate lawyer Nick Rogers to the firm's partnership. He has been with Walkers' Hong Kong office since its opening in September 2003.
In addition to the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong, the offshore specialist firm also has offices in the British Virgin Islands and London.
