This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Offshore firm Walkers has hired Linda Martin to head its finance and corporate practice for London and the Middle East.
Martin joins the firm from Maples and Calder where she was a partner in the firm’s Hong Kong and London offices. She will be based in Walkers’ London office.
Walkers said it was a strategic hire which reflected the changing work being referred to the firm in the current economic climate.
According to global head of finance and corporate Antonia Hardy Walkers has seen a rise in restructuring and enforcement work. “Many transactions are either currently in a state of default or have required restructuring work to avoid that scenario,” she said.
Martin specialises in debt and equity capital markets transactions, structured finance, asset financing and general banking and corporate matters to the Walkers team.
She will be joined by Linklaters associate Chinyin Lim who joins the firm in March.
