Walker Morris volunteers participate in Leeds Law Society Education Week

Twelve Walker Morris volunteers have been participating in the seventh Leeds Law Society’s Education Week, which has seen 150 volunteers from 13 law firms across the city hoping to support young people in raising their aspirations to the employment opportunities available to them.

The volunteers have been visiting primary schools in some of the most deprived inner-city areas with the aim of raising pupils’ awareness of the world of work.

Each volunteer will spend a day with a year-six class and will help to run, in conjunction with the teachers, focused workshops offering first-hand accounts of working within a law firm and the variety of roles that exist.

Activities will focus on broadening children’s horizons about the choices and opportunities open to them and helping them view work and employment as a positive option.
