Allen & Overy (A&O) sure is excited about its swanky new building at Spitalfields. So giddy is the firm that it has installed a webcam at the site so all its lawyers can log on and check out how progress is going – although there may be other motives for being visually linked.
Penny-pinching partners can check up on how many tea breaks the builders are taking. Or maybe lusty ladies (and lads) can use the webcam to peruse the talent – if there is any. However, Tulkinghorn thinks rival law firms should take full advantage of this opportunity.
Wouldn’t it be fun if lawyers from, say, Linklaters or Clifford Chance left anonymous messages in front of the webcam for their favourite A&O lawyers. Imagine the possibilities.
