Vinson & Elkins (V&E) has made its eighth hire in nine months, taking Lovells corporate finance lawyer François Feuillat.
The Texas-based firm has hired to its US strengths, with its eight London hires all in the energy, corporate and project finance fields.
David Manny and Raminder Singh both joined as project finance partners from US rival Shearman & Sterling.
Feuillat, a senior associate at Lovells, spent 11 years at Lovells and acted high profile M&A deals including UK aspects of Exxon's $81bn merger with Mobil, SABMiller's $8bn takeover of Bavaria and ALSTOM's €1.1bn sale of its industrial turbines business to Siemens.
V&E London managing partner Jeff Eldredge said: “Our clients want us to expand our offerings in London to include further English law, public and private M&A, and securities capability.”
The latest hire follows V&E losing project finance lawyer Christopher Clement-Davis to US rival Fulbright & Jaworski.
