Dickinson Dees, Hammonds and Pinsent Masons are facing an employment tribunal claim from a lawyer formerly at all three firms - but will now have to wait until September.
The trio was supposed to be going before a tribunal in January after ex-employee Rachel Clarke alleged that she had been victimised by all three firms (The Lawyer, 2 July 2007).
The case, however, has been adjourned until 1 September, when an eight-week trial will take place in front of a panel of three.
The adjournment had been sought by Clarke, who is representing herself, after she fell ill shortly after the firms served their statements on her.
A source close to the case said the firms had argued that Clarke was looking for an adjournment as she did not have a case. Clarke adamantly denies such suggestions and will be pursuing her claim the whole way. There may be fireworks.
