In the male-dominated world of insolvency, Louise Verrill achieved something special when she became the first woman, and also the first lawyer, to be voted president of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA), where she was already the first female council member.
Verrill’s commitment to the insolvency profession is evidenced by her involvement in a host of organisations. She is co-chair of INSOL International, she sits on the executive committee of INSOL Europe and she is an Insolvency Lawyers’ Association council member.
Verrill is also the national head of Addleshaw Goddard’s insolvency and corporate restructuring group. 2004 saw her as busy as ever, undertaking retail work with businesses such as Ciro Citterio. She also managed to squeeze in time to advise the administrators on the sad demise of Wimbledon FC, now renamed the Milton Keynes Dons.
