ValidSoft taps 2Birds to fill general counsel role

Counterfraud company ValidSoft has gone to its external adviser Bird & Bird to hire its first-ever general counsel.

Associate Alexander Korff will be responsible for intellectual property management and protection, contract administration and counsel to the company on legal and policy issues.
A spokesperson told The Lawyer that the decision to create an in-house legal role came as the company, which provides solutions to counter electronic fraud relating to cards, the internet and telephone channels, expands its customer base and needs to be properly resourced in legal and other support functions.
“Alexander brings valuable legal experience in IT, telecoms and intellectual property matters to ValidSoft,” stated ValidSoft CEO Pat Carroll. “He’s an experienced professional, with a proven track record of advising some of the world’s leading technology organisations on protecting and exploiting intellectual property and helping sophisticated clients achieve cutting edge legal, commercial and technological goals.”
As well as a stint at Bird & Bird, Korff has worked at Clifford Chance.
