DLA Piper has promoted 45 lawyers to the firm’s global partnership with effect from the 1 January 2014 in the US and today in the UK.
DLA Piper’s latest promotions round is up 32 per cent on 2013 when 34 were promoted, with the bulk of the new partners in the US for the second consecutive year.
The firm made up 47 per cent of the total number of new partners in the US, where 21 of the 25 were added to the partnership across corporate, intellectual property and technology, litigation and regulatory and real estate.
Of the 34 promoted to the partnership in 2013 20 promotions were in the US, seven across continental Europe, four in the UK and a further four in Australia. This was a significant reduction of the 58 that were promoted by the firm in 2012.
This year, outside of the US there were ten in continental Europe, seven in the UK, one in the Middle East, two in Asia and a further four in Australia.
Corporate saw the largest intake of new partners with 13 promotions, followed by 12 in litigation and regulatory and nine in intellectual property and technology.
The firm’s real estate group had four promotions with a further three in tax, two in restructuring and one each in finance and projects and employment.
