Up, up – and then away

Fancy becoming a partner at Dewey Ballantine? No? Don’t blame you, neither does Tulkinghorn. Still, if you were hankering after the badge then Dewey might be the firm for you.

Last year, as we report in this issue, the firm lost an incredible 23 partners. That’s nearly 50 per cent more exits than the average for the preceding three years.

So, in response, Dewey promoted 15 partners last year, a 114 per cent increase on the rate over the past three years.

Rumours that Dewey was in talks to promote the tea boy to partner could not be confirmed at press time.
