STRONG PERFORMANCES in both corporate
and litigation contributed to an excellent year at
Bryan Cave, with average PEP hitting $601,000
(£343,000).
Bryan Cave operates a one-firm, one-profit centre
model, with an entirely merit-based remuneration
system, which it describes as “prudent
conservatism”. Points are allocated at the beginning
of the year by a three-partner remuneration
committee.
A bonus pool is also available that averages out at
around $50,000-$100,000 (£26,854-£53,708)
per allocation. One-off events such as standout
deals are recognised by the bonus, while repeat
and regular good work is recognised by additional
points.
The equity spread is between approximately one
and five. Bryan Cave has a policy of having no bank
borrowings at the year-end.
