LATHAM & WATKINS’London performance was
broadly in line with its global results, seeing average
profit rise to $1.6m (£915,000) and turnover hitting
$142m (£81.1m).
London’s 26 equity partners (as opposed to its six
‘income’ partners) are remunerated on the global
modified lockstep, which runs from 300 to
900 points.
Partners progress up the equity at 50-point
increments, passing a gateway at 500 points, to
700 points. The increments then reduce until
reaching 900. On average, it takes around 12 years
to reach the top of the lockstep.
Partners can also receive discretionary bonuses
from the 15 per cent profit pool. Latham has no debt.
