Ward Hadaway, Newcastle's second-largest firm,
benefitted last year from its longstanding niche in
corporate technology. It won instructions from the
Technology Services Group, Durham University
spin-out Bede and Sage, all of which helped turnover
rise 17 per cent to £20.4m.
The firm's equity continues to be among the
most tightly held in the market, with just 12 full
equity partners among a total of 46, all of whom
sit at the top of lockstep. That fact, plus a firm grip
on costs, contributed towards last year's sharp 40
per cent rise in average PEP, from £265,000 to
£370,000.
