SKADDEN ARPS Slate Meagher & Flom reported
a stagnant year during 2004-05. London
revenue was stable at £43m, as was PEP, which
remained at a respectable £1m.
This lack of growth was unexpected given
that 2004 began well, with the transfer of
corporate restructuring partner Lynn Hiestand
from Chicago to bolster London's international
restructuring capability. This was backed up
by the revelation that Skadden would take on
trainees in London for the first time.
The office also secured instructions on some
notable deals, including advising the Westfield
Group, Multiplex and the Reuben Brothers on
a £2.2bn joint bid for Duelguide, and advising
the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance
in connection with the €7.5bn (£5.09bn) thirdstage
privatisation of Enel. |
