SIDLEY AUSTIN Brown & Wood's turnover
rose 14 per cent to £44m. The firm embarked
on a recruiting spree, strengthening its already
strong finance group with securitisation star Richard Hughes from Linklaters and
acquisition finance specialist Steve Clark from
Ashurst. Finance deals included setting up a
new type of residential mortgage-backed
securities programme for Bayerische Hypound
Vereinsbank and advising Barclays
Capital on a £250m issuance by MBNA.
