7 KING'S BENCH Walk has entered the bar
top 10 with a fanfare, achieving the highest
revenue per barrister at the bar ± an impressive
£533,000. The set has just 40 tenants,
including 10 silks, and saw a 10 per cent
revenue rise last year to £21.3m. Chambers contributions have remained low, ranging
between 10 and 12 per cent.
The chambers' insurance expertise was
highlighted during 2004, when Gavin Kealey
QC and David Allen successfully acted for
the Lumbermens Mutual Casualty Company
against Bovis Lend Lease. The judgment
clarified an insurer's position with regard to
global settlements and was regarded as a
landmark decision. |
